Removal Procedure
- Remove the clutch cable (1) from the clutch pedal bracket.
- Remove the clutch cable retainer (1) securing the clutch cable (2) to the floor panel.
- Remove the strap (1) that secures the shift cable to the frame bracket (2).
- For the 1.5 inch spline with 6.0L engine, remove the return spring from the transmission clutch lever.
- For the push type single plate with 7.2L engine, remove the return spring from the transmission clutch lever.
- Remove the nuts, the washers, and the clip securing the clutch cable to the transmission shift lever.
- Remove the clutch cable from the vehicle.
Pull the clutch cable down through the cab floor.
Installation Procedure
- Install the clutch cable to the vehicle.
- Install the nuts, the washers, and the clip that secures the clutch cable to the transmission shift lever.
- For the 1.5 inch spline with 6.0L engine, install the return spring from the transmission clutch lever.
- For the push type single plate with 7.2L engine, install the return spring from the transmission clutch lever.
- Install the strap (1) that secures the shift cable to the frame bracket.
- Push the clutch cable in through the cab floor.
- Install the clutch cable retainer (1) securing the clutch cable (2) to the floor panel.
- Install the clutch cable (1) to the clutch pedal bracket.
- Adjust the clutch cable. Refer to Clutch Assembly Adjustment .
Do not tighten the nuts.
