Problem

Action

The switch mounting screws are loose.

Tighten the screws. Refer to Turn Signal and Multifunction Switch Assembly - Disassemble - Off Vehicle and Steering Shaft, Lower Bearing, and Jacket - Assemble - Off Vehicle .

The switch or anchor bosses are broken.

Replace the switch. Refer to Turn Signal and Multifunction Switch Assembly - Disassemble - Off Vehicle and Steering Shaft, Lower Bearing, and Jacket - Assemble - Off Vehicle .

The detent, return or cancelling spring is:

    • Broken
    • Missing
    • Out of position

Reposition or replace the springs as required. Refer to Turn Signal and Multifunction Switch Assembly - Disassemble - Off Vehicle and Steering Shaft, Lower Bearing, and Jacket - Assemble - Off Vehicle .

An uneven or incorrect cancelling cam to the cancelling spring interference.

Adjust the switch position.

    • Replace the switch if the interference is correct and the switch will still not cancel. Refer to Turn Signal and Multifunction Switch Assembly - Disassemble - Off Vehicle and Steering Shaft, Lower Bearing, and Jacket - Assemble - Off Vehicle .
    • Replace the cancelling cam if the interference cannot be corrected by switch adjustment. Refer to Turn Signal Cancel Cam and Bearing Thrust Washer - Disassemble - Off Vehicle and Turn Signal Cancel Cam and Bearing Thrust Washer - Assemble - Off Vehicle .
