Assembly Procedure

    Object Number: 378819 Size: SH

    Important: The dimmer switch rod must rest on the dimmer switch rod actuator.

  1. Lubricate and install the dimmer switch rod actuator (2).
  2. Install the lock housing cover assembly (1).

    3. Object Number: 347638 Size: SH
  3. Install the column housing cover end cap (1).

    4. Object Number: 343832 Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install 3 pan head 6-lobe socket tapping screws (1), (2) and (3).

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  5. Install the steering column lock cylinder set assembly. Refer to Steering Column Lock Cylinder Set - Assemble - Off Vehicle .
