Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the front wheelhouse panel. Refer to Wheelhouse Panel Replacement in Body Front End.
  2. Drain the coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .

  3. Object Number: 199144  Size: SH
  4. Remove the coolant filter (1).
  5. Remove the clamps and the hoses.

  6. Object Number: 199156  Size: SH
  7. Remove the coolant filter adapter mounting bolts.
  8. Remove the coolant filter adapter (1) from the cowl.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 199156  Size: SH
  1. Install the coolant filter adapter (1) to the cowl.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the coolant filter adapter mounting bolts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the coolant filter adapter mounting bolts to 23 N·m (17 lb ft).

  5. Install the hoses and the clamps.
  6. Install a new coolant filter (1).
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the filter 2/3 turn after gasket contact is made.

  8. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
  9. Install the front wheelhouse panel. Refer to Wheelhouse Panel Replacement in Body Front End.
  10. Inspect the system for leaks.
