Heater Water Shutoff Valve Replacement Engine Valve
Removal Procedure
- Drain the engine coolant. Refer to
Cooling System Draining and Filling
in Engine Cooling.
- Remove the heater water
shut off valve hose nipple from the auxiliary heater water shut off valve.
- Remove the heater water shut off adapter from the auxiliary heater
water shut off valve.
- Remove the heater water shut off hose from the auxiliary heater
water shut off adapter.
- Remove the heater water shut off hose from the auxiliary heater
water shut off valve elbow.
- Remove the heater water shut off hose bolt from the engine.
- Remove the heater water shut off hose clamp from the engine.
- Remove the heater water shut off valve elbow from the auxiliary
heater water shut off valve adapter.
- Remove the heater water shut off valve adapter from the engine.
Installation Procedure
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the heater water shut off valve adapter to the engine.
Tighten
Tighten the valve adapter to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).
- Install the heater water shut off valve elbow to the heater water
shut off valve adapter.
Tighten
Tighten the valve elbow to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).
- Install the heater water shut off hose clamp to the engine.
- Install the heater water shut off hose bolt to the engine.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 55 N·m (41 lb ft).
- Install the to the auxiliary water shut off valve elbow.
Tighten
Tighten the heater water shut off hose to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).
- Install the auxiliary heater water shut off hose to the auxiliary
heater water shut off adapter.
Tighten
Tighten the to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).
- Install the heater water shut off adapter to the heater water
shut off valve.
Tighten
Tighten the valve to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).
- Install the heater water shut off valve hose nipple to the heater
water shut off valve.
Tighten
Tighten the valve to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
- Add the engine coolant. Refer to
Cooling System Draining and Filling
in Engine Cooling.
Heater Water Shutoff Valve Replacement Radiator Valve
Removal Procedure
- Remove the engine coolant. Refer to
Cooling System Draining and Filling
in Engine Cooling.
- Remove the nipple from the heater hose.
- Remove the radiator water
shut off valve from the nipple at the radiator.
Installation Procedure

- Install the nipple to the radiator.
Tighten
Tighten the radiator nipple to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).
- Install the radiator water
shut off valve to the nipple at the radiator.
Tighten
Tighten the valve to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).
- Install the nipple to the heater hoses.
Tighten
Tighten the nipples to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
- Add the engine coolant. Refer to
Cooling System Draining and Filling
in Engine Cooling.
