Interior Lamps Dimming

This group includes incandescent lamps which may be dimmed. The following lamps are part of this group:

    • The Ammeter
    • The Automatic Transmission (A/T) Shift Control
    • The Automatic Transmission (A/T) Fluid Temperature Gage
    • The HAZARD Name Plate
    • The Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC)
    • The LOW AIR Pressure Indicator

The PNL circuit breaker in the I/P Fuse Block supplies battery voltage to the headlamp switch. When the headlamp switch is placed in the PARK or headlamp ON position, current flows from the headlamp switch to the I/P dimmer switch. The I/P dimmer switch has a variable resistor inside of it that the current will flow through. The setting of the variable resistor will determine the amount of voltage drop across it. After the current flows through the I/P lamps dimmer switch, it flows to S233. Splice 233 distributes the voltage to all of the lamps listed above. All of the lamps listed above ground at G101or G102.

Driver Controls and Modules

Driver controls include the following components:

    • The Hazard Warning Switch
    • The Headlamp Dimmer Switch
    • The Headlamp Switch
    • The IP Dimmer Switch
    • The Stop Lamp Switch
    • The Turn Signal Switch

The daytime running lamps (DRL) control module is the only module in the lighting system of this vehicle.
