Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the upper column components. Refer to Turn Signal Cancel Cam and Steering Shaft Upper Bearing Spring Replacement - On Vehicle .

  2. Object Number: 378807  Size: SH
  3. Remove the round washer head screw (2).
  4. Remove the switch actuator arm assembly (3).
  5. Remove the pan head 6-lobed socket screws (1).

  7. Remove the wire protector.

  8. Object Number: 378820  Size: SH
  9. Pull the turn signal switch assembly connector through the column and remove the turn signal switch assembly.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 378820  Size: SH
  1. Pull the turn signal switch assembly connector through column and onto the race and upper shaft assembly.

  2. Object Number: 378815  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the pan head 6-lobed socket screws (1).
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 3.5 N·m (31 lb in).

  5. Lubricate and install the switch actuator arm assembly (3).
  6. Install the round washer head screw (2).
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the screw to 2.3 N·m (20 lb in).

  8. Install the wire protector.
  9. Install the upper column components. Refer to Turn Signal Cancel Cam and Steering Shaft Upper Bearing Spring Replacement - On Vehicle .
