TRANSPORTATION DAMAGE REPAIRS

The following operations are published as a guide for replacement of body panels and are to be used for transportation claims. These operations include time to R&R, or loosen, all necessary chassis parts, body trim, moldings, weatherstrips, panel removal and replacement of standard undercoating materials. Refer to the paint section of this guide for paint times and enter the paint time into the "regular labor hours" column. When it is required to paint both sides and/or edges of a panel, up to an additional 25% can be added to the paint refinish time and the material allowance.

Note: New vehicle received with significant/extensive damage to the roof panel (except those that are glued in), pillar post, frame assembly, quarter panel, or structural unibody components are not to have the panel/component replaced. Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) which apply to new vehicles may be compromised. For the purpose of this policy, "New Vehicles" means vehicles that have not been sold retail, titled, or registered. Any question as to whether a panel(s) can be replaced should be directed to the GM new Vehicle Damage Group.

Note: A9000 series labor operations in the Panel Repairs section are not allowed for use with transportation claims.
