Fan Pulley Bracket Replacement L18

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the front wheelhouse panel. Refer to Wheelhouse Panel Replacement in Body Front End.

  2. Object Number: 198949  Size: SH
  3. Remove the front intake air duct (1) from the air filter housing.

  4. Object Number: 199033  Size: SH
  5. Remove the drive belts. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
  6. Remove the cooling fan. Refer to Fan Clutch Replacement .

  7. Object Number: 199039  Size: SH
  8. Remove the fan drive belt tensioner. Refer to Drive Belt Tensioner Replacement in Engine Mechanical.

  9. Object Number: 199031  Size: SH
  10. Remove the fan pulley bracket mounting bolts and the nuts.
  11. Remove the fan pulley bracket from the engine.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 199031  Size: SH
  1. Install the fan pulley bracket to the engine.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the fan pulley bracket bolts and the nut.
  4. Tighten

        • Tighten the fan pulley bracket bolt to 53 N·m (39 lb ft).
        • Tighten the fan pulley bracket nut to 45 N·m (33 lb ft).

  5. Connect the fan drive belt tensioner to the fan pulley bracket. Refer to Drive Belt Tensioner Replacement in Engine Mechanical.
  6. Install the cooling fan. Refer to Fan Clutch Replacement .
  7. Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .

  9. Install the front intake air duct (1) to the air filter housing.
  10. Install the front wheelhouse panel. Refer to Wheelhouse Panel Replacement in Body Front End.
