Removal Procedure

  1. Remove 2/3 of the brake fluid from the master cylinder.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  3. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .

  4. Object Number: 370154  Size: SH
  5. Using a C-clamp or the equivalent, compress the caliper piston until the caliper piston bottoms in the bore.

  6. Object Number: 367082  Size: SH
  7. Disconnect the brake hose at caliper by removing the inlet fitting bolt.

  8. Object Number: 369665  Size: SH
  9. Remove the caliper mounting bolts.
  10. Remove the caliper.
  11. Inspect the caliper assembly. Refer to Brake Caliper Inspection .

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the caliper.

  2. Object Number: 369665  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the caliper mounting bolts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the caliper guide pin bolts to 108 N·m (80 lb ft).

  5. Connect the brake hose at caliper by installing the inlet fitting bolt.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the inlet fitting bolt to 52 N·m (38 lb ft)

  7. Bleed the brakes. Refer to Antilock Brake System Automated Bleed Procedure .
  8. Install the tire and wheel assembly. Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  9. Remove the safety stands.
  10. Lower the vehicle.
