Action

DEFINITION: An occasional drop of lubricant leaking from the splined yoke is normal and requires no attention.

The slip yoke barrel is burred, nicked, corroded, or worn.

    • Smooth minor burrs by the careful use of a crocus cloth or a fine stone honing.
    • Replace a badly burred yoke.

There is a faulty transmission or transfer case output shaft oil seal.

    • Replace the transmission rear oil seal. Refer to Transfer Case Output Shaft Seal Replacement .
    • Replenish the transmission oil. Refer to Oil Replacement .
