Subject: | Heated Oxygen Sensor Identification and Usage |
Models: | 2000 Chevrolet and GMC C/K Models (Silverado and Sierra) |
| with 4.8 L or 5.3 L V8 Engine (VINs V, T --
RPOs LM7, LR) |
Two different styles of Heated Oxygen Sensors are used in the 2000
model year truck production.
• | Vehicles built at the Ft. Wayne (VIN Plant code Z) and Pontiac
East (VIN Plant code E) assembly plants will use the Delphi Heated Oxygen
Sensors (1 and 2). |
• | Vehicles built at the Oshawa assembly plant (RPO OSG, VIN Plant
code 1) will use the Denso Heated Oxygen Sensor (4). |
Important:
• | Heated Oxygen Sensors cannot be used on any vehicle application
other than what they were originally released for. |
• | Different electrical connectors and connector colors, and different
keys (3, 5) on similar electrical connectors, prevent the use of any Heated
Oxygen Sensor other than the one released for that vehicle. |
Heated Oxygen Sensors can be identified by the following illustration:
