Radiator Outlet Hose Replacement 4.3 L Engine

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 360851  Size: SH
  1. Separate the MAF/IAT sensor assembly and the air inlet tube by loosening the hose clamp.
  2. Disconnect the PCV hose from the air cleaner outlet duct.

  3. Object Number: 489179  Size: SH
  4. Remove the air inlet tube and resonator retaining wing nut.

  5. Object Number: 489176  Size: SH
  6. Remove the air inlet tube and resonator from the throttle body by pivoting the air inlet tube and resonator upward until the hinge clip releases from the lip on the throttle body.
  7. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .

  8. Object Number: 367001  Size: SH
  9. Remove the radiator outlet hose from the surge tank.
  10. Remove the radiator outlet hose from the water pump.

  11. Object Number: 366999  Size: SH
  12. Remove the radiator outlet hose from the radiator.

  13. Object Number: 367001  Size: SH
  14. Remove the radiator outlet hose.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 366999  Size: SH
  1. Install the radiator outlet hose to the radiator.

  2. Object Number: 367001  Size: SH
  3. Install the radiator outlet hose to the water pump.
  4. Install the radiator outlet hose to the surge tank.

  5. Object Number: 489176  Size: SH
  6. Align the hinge clip with the lip on the throttle body.
  7. Install the air inlet tube and resonator to the throttle body by pivoting the air inlet tube and resonator downward until the mounting stud is through the hole in the air inlet tube.

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  8. Install the resonator retaining wing nut.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the resonator wing nut to 3 N·m (27 lb in).

  10. Connect the PCV hose to the air cleaner outlet duct.

  11. Object Number: 373468  Size: SH
  12. Connect the MAF/IAT sensor assembly harness connector.
  13. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
  14. Inspect the cooling system for leaks.

Radiator Outlet Hose Replacement 4.8 L, 5.3 L, and 6.0 L Engines

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 307286  Size: SH
  1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
  2. Loosen the air cleaner outlet duct clamps at the following locations:
  3. • Throttle body
    • Mass airflow/intake air temperature (MAF/IAT) sensor
  4. Remove the radiator inlet hose clip from the outlet duct.
  5. Remove the air cleaner outlet duct.

  7. Reposition the outlet hose clamp at the water pump.
  8. Remove the outlet hose from the water pump.

  9. Object Number: 659511  Size: SH
  10. Reposition the outlet hose clamp at the radiator.
  11. Remove the outlet hose from the radiator.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 659511  Size: SH
  1. Install the outlet hose to the radiator.
  2. Position the outlet hose clamp at the radiator.

  3. Object Number: 659509  Size: SH
  4. Install the outlet hose to the water pump.
  5. Position the outlet hose clamp at the water pump.

  6. Object Number: 307286  Size: SH

    Important: Align the arrow at the throttle body end of the duct with the throttle body attaching stud.

  7. Install the air cleaner outlet duct.
  8. Install the radiator inlet hose clip to the outlet duct.
  9. Tighten the air cleaner outlet duct clamps at the following locations:
  10. • Throttle body
    • MAF/IAT sensor

    Tighten
    Tighten the air cleaner outlet duct clamp screws to 7 N·m (62 lb in).

  11. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .

Radiator Outlet Hose Replacement 8.1 L Engine

Removal Procedure

Important: Most truck models use a spring-type hose clamp at the hose connections. When using this type of clamp, install the radiator hoses on dry, non-painted surfaces in order to ensure proper sealing. Reusing the spring-type clamps on aftermarket hoses is not recommended.

  1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
  2. Reposition the outlet hose clamp at the radiator.
  3. Remove the radiator outlet hose from the radiator..

  5. Reposition the surge tank outlet hose clamp at the surge tank.
  6. Remove the surge tank outlet hose (2) from the surge tank.

  7. Object Number: 751427  Size: SH
  8. Reposition the outlet hose clamp the the water pump.
  9. Remove the outlet hose from the water pump.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 751427  Size: SH
  1. Remove the outlet hose from the water pump.
  2. Reposition the outlet hose clamp the the water pump.

  3. Object Number: 659059  Size: SH
  4. Remove the surge tank outlet hose (2) from the surge tank.
  5. Reposition the surge tank outlet hose clamp at the surge tank.

  6. Object Number: 751426  Size: SH
  7. Remove the radiator outlet hose to the radiator.
  8. Reposition the outlet hose clamp at the radiator.
  9. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .

Radiator Outlet Hose Replacement 6.6 L Engine

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 659059  Size: SH
  1. Drain the engine coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
  2. Remove the upper and lower fan shroud. Refer to Engine Coolant Fan Upper Shroud Replacement and Engine Coolant Fan Lower Shroud Replacement .
  3. Remove the surge tank outlet hose (2) from the surge tank.

  4. Object Number: 674559  Size: SH
  5. Remove the radiator outlet hose from the water pump.

  6. Object Number: 674543  Size: SH
  7. Remove the heater outlet hose from the radiator outlet hose.
  8. Remove the radiator outlet hose from the radiator.
  9. Remove the radiator outlet hose clip retainers from the brackets.
  10. Remove the radiator outlet hose from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 674543  Size: SH
  1. Install the radiator outlet hose to the vehicle.
  2. Install the radiator outlet hose and clamp to the radiator. Ensure the hose is positioned properly in order to prevent interference with the fan shroud.
  3. Install the radiator outlet hose clip retainers to the brackets.

  4. Object Number: 659059  Size: SH
  5. Install the surge tank outlet hose (2) to the surge tank.

  6. Object Number: 674559  Size: SH
  7. Install the radiator outlet hose and clamp to the water pump.
  8. Install the heater outlet hose to the radiator outlet hose.
  9. Install the upper and lower fan shroud. Refer to Engine Coolant Fan Upper Shroud Replacement and Engine Coolant Fan Lower Shroud Replacement .
  10. Fill the engine coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
