Removal Procedure

Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cables from both batteries.
  2. Remove the fuel tank cap.
  3. Disconnect the following engine harness connectors:
  4. • Coolant temperature sensor connector
    • Left front injector harness connector
  5. Remove the harness tie downs over the fuel injection control module (FICM) and move the harness aside.
  6. Remove the fuel line from the end of the right fuel rail.
  7. Remove the other end connected to the front of the junction block.
  8. Slide the line out the right side of the engine.

Installation Procedure

  1. Slide the new fuel line in from the right side.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Connect one end of the crossover pipe to the junction block and the other to the right fuel rail.
  4. Tighten
Tighten both ends of the crossover pipe to 41 Nm (30 lb ft).

  5. Move the harness back over the FICM and reconnect temperature sensor and left front injector harness connector.
  6. Connect tie downs.
  7. Replace the fuel tank cap.
  8. Connect the negative battery cables to both batteries.
  9. Start the engine and check for leaks.
