Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 729651 Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the mass air flow/intake air temperature (MAF/IAT) sensor harness connector. Refer to Mass Airflow Sensor/Intake Air Temperature Sensor Replacement .
  2. Loosen the retaining screws (7) holding the air cleaner housing halves together.
  3. Separate the housing halves and remove the air filter element.
  4. Inspect the filter housing for debris and damage.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the air filter element into the lower air cleaner housing.

    2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  2. Install the upper housing cover (1) and screws (7).

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 4 N·m (35 lb in).

  3. Connect the MAF/IAT sensor harness connector. Refer to Mass Airflow Sensor/Intake Air Temperature Sensor Replacement .
