the lower valve rocker arm cover gasket in the lower valve rocker arm cover.
- Install the bolt grommets in the lower valve rocker arm cover.
- Install the lower valve rocker arm cover.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the 12 bolts for the lower valve rocker arm cover.
The
lower valve rocker arm cover is tightened 2 times in the numerical order.
Bolts number 1 and 2 are used to position the cover.
Tighten
- Tighten the lower valve rocker arm cover bolts to 10 N·m
(89 lb in) in the proper sequence.
- Retighten the lower valve rocker arm cover bolts to 10 N·m
(89 lb in) in the proper sequence.
- Install the injector harnesses.
- Install the injector harness bracket bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the injector harness bolts to 9 N·m
(80 lb in).
- Install the injector wire terminals and nuts to the injectors.
Tighten
Tighten the injector wire terminal nuts to 1.5 N·m
(13 lb in).
- Connect injector wiring harnesses connectors.
