Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 102870  Size: SH
  1. If the fluid is contaminated use a suitable container under the transmission.
  2. Remove the oil fill plug.
  3. Remove the lower center PTO bolt.
  4. Drain the fluid.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 102872  Size: SH
  1. Apply a thin bead of sealant GM P/N 12345739 to the PTO cover bolt.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the cover bolt.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 41 N·m (30 lb ft).

  5. Fill the transmission to the bottom of the oil fill plug hole. Refer to Lubrication Specifications .

  6. Object Number: 102870  Size: SH
  7. Remove all of the existing sealant from the oil fill plug hole.
  8. Apply a thin bead of sealant GM P/N 12346004 to the treads of the oil fill plug hole.
  9. Install the oil fill plug.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the oil fill plug to 37 N·m (27 lb ft).
