Air Conditioning Compressor Hose Replacement L35 w/ Harrison
Tools Required

Removal Procedure
- Recover the refrigerant. Refer to
Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging
.
- Remove the compressor
hose assembly mounting bolt from the A/C compressor.
- Remove the compressor hose assembly from the A/C compressor.
- Remove the compressor
hose assembly nut from the accumulator.
- Remove the compressor hose assembly from the accumulator.
- Remove the upper radiator baffle. Refer to
Radiator Air Baffle Assemblies and Deflectors
in Engine Cooling.
- Remove the compressor
hose assembly nut at the condenser.
- Remove the compressor hose assembly from the condenser.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the A/C recirculation
switch.
- Remove the A/C compressor
hose assembly.
- Discard all of the used sealing washers. Cap the system openings.
Installation Procedure
- Install the A/C compressor
hose assembly.
- Connect the electrical
connector to the A/C recirculation switch.
- Install the A/C compressor hose assembly to the condenser.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the A/C compressor hose assembly nut to the condenser.
Tighten
Tighten the nut to 16 N·m (12 lb ft).
- Install the upper radiator baffle. Refer to
Radiator Air Baffle Assemblies and Deflectors
in Engine Cooling.
- Install the A/C compressor
hose assembly to the accumulator using new sealing washers.
- Install the nut to the accumulator.
Tighten
Tighten the nut to 16 N·m (12 lb ft).
- Install the bolt to the
A/C compressor hose assembly.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 34 N·m (25 lb ft).
- Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to
Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging
.
- Leak test the fittings of the component using the J 39400-A
.

Removal Procedure

- Remove the A/C compressor
hose mounting bolt from the A/C compressor.
- Remove the A/C compressor hose from the A/C compressor.
- Remove the A/C compressor
hose nut from the accumulator.
- Remove the A/C compressor hose from the accumulator.
- Remove the upper radiator baffle. Refer to
Radiator Air Baffle Assemblies and Deflectors
in Engine Cooling.
- Remove the A/C compressor
hose nut from the condenser.
- Remove the A/C compressor hose from the condenser.
- Disconnect the A/C recirculation switch electrical connector from
the A/C compressor hose assembly.
- Remove the A/C compressor
hose assembly from the vehicle.
- Discard all of the used sealing washers. Cap the system openings.
Installation Procedure
- Install the A/C compressor
hose assembly to the vehicle.
- Connect the A/C recirculation switch electrical connector to the
A/C compressor hose assembly.
- Install the A/C compressor
hose assembly to the condenser using new sealing washers.

hose assembly mounting bolt.
Tighten
Tighten the nut to 34 N·m (25 lb ft).
- Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to
Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging
.
- Leak test the fittings of the component using the J 39400-A
.

Removal Procedure
- Recover the refrigerant. Refer to

- Remove the A/C compressor
hose assembly mounting bolt (2) from the A/C compressor (3).
Discard the bolt.
- Remove the A/C compressor hose assembly (1) from the compressor
(3).
- Remove the nut from the
accumulator.
Discard the nut.
- Remove the A/C compressor hose from the accumulator.
- Remove the upper radiator baffle. Refer to
Radiator Air Baffle Assemblies and Deflectors
in Engine Cooling.
- Remove the nut from the
condenser.
Discard the nut.
- Remove the A/C compressor hose from the condenser.
- Disconnect the A/C recirculation switch from the A/C compressor
hose assembly.
- Remove the A/C compressor hose assembly from the vehicle.
- Discard all of the used sealing washers. Cap the system openings.
Installation Procedure
- Install the A/C compressor hose assembly to the vehicle.
- Connect the A/C recirculation switch to the A/C compressor hose
assembly.
- Install the A/C compressor
hose to the condenser using new sealing washers.

hose assembly to the accumulator using new sealing washers.
- Install the NEW nut to the accumulator.
Tighten
Tighten the nut to 16 N·m (12 lb ft).
- Install the A/C compressor hose assembly to the A/C compressor
using new sealing washers.
- Install the NEW A/C compressor
hose assembly mounting bolt (2).
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 34 N·m (25 lb ft).
- Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to
Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging
.
- Leak test the fittings of the component using the J 39400-A
.
