Grille Replacement Chevrolet
Removal Procedure
- For diesel only, remove the winter cover, if equipped and installed.
- Open the hood.
- Remove the upper grille baffle.
- Using a Phillips screwdriver, rotate the grille retainer ¼ turn counterclockwise.
- Remove the screw holding the grille to the latch support.
- Unsnap the grille ends from the fender. Remove the grille from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Snap the grille ends into the fender.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the screw holding the grille to the latch support.
Tighten
Tighten the grille screw to 9 N·m (75 lb in).
- Using a Phillips screwdriver, rotate the grille retainer ¼ turn clockwise.
- Install the upper grille baffle.
- Close the hood.
- Inspect for proper alignment.
- For diesel only, install the winter cover, if removed.
