J 41712 Oil Pressure Switch Socket

Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Important: Clean the area around the sensor. Do not allow debris to enter the engine.

  3. Disconnect the engine oil pressure sensor electrical connector.
  4. Remove the engine oil pressure sensor using the J 41712 .

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 675758  Size: SH
  1. Apply sealant GM P/N United States 12346004, GM P/N Canada 10953480, or equivalent to the threads of the engine oil pressure sensor.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the engine oil pressure sensor.
  4. Tighten
    Using the J 41712 tighten the sensor to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).

  5. Connect the engine oil pressure sensor electrical connector.
  6. Lower the vehicle.
  7. Check and adjust engine oil level.
