Removal Procedure
- Remove the fuel fill pipe housing to body bolts (1) and retainer (2).
- Remove the fuel fill pipe to fuel fill pipe housing bolts.
- Drain the fuel to a lever below fuel fill hose, if necessary. Refer to Fuel Tank Draining .
- Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
- Disconnect the fuel fill pipe ground strap bolt.
- Disconnect the vent hose from the retaining clip on the fuel fill pipe.
- Loosen the fuel fill hose clamp (4) at the fuel tank.
- Separate the fuel fill pipe/hose (3) from the fuel tank.
- Remove the fuel fill pipe/hose.
- Cap the open end of the fuel tank in order to prevent fuel contamination.
Installation Procedure
- Uncap the fuel tank.
- Install the fuel fill pipe/hose.
- Align the fuel fill pipe/hose to the fuel tank.
- Tighten the fuel fill hose clamp (4) at the fuel tank.
- Connect the vent hose to the retaining on the fuel fill pipe
- Install the fuel fill pipe ground strap bolt.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Install the fuel fill pipe to fuel fill pipe housing bolts.
- Install the fuel fill pipe housing to body bolts (1) and retainer (2).
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Tighten
Tighten the clamp to 2.5 N·m (22 lb in).
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 9 N·m (80 lb in).
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 2.3 N·m (20 lb in).
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 2.3 N·m (20 lb in).
