Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check - Retained Accessory Power?

Go to Step 2

  1. Close the driver and passenger doors.
  2. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  3. Turn OFF the ignition.
  4. Operate the Right hand power window controls.

Do the Right hand power windows operate for approximately 10 minutes?

System OK

Go to Step 3

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Remove the RAP#1 relay.
  3. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  4. With a test lamp that is connected to a good ground, probe the battery positive voltage circuits of the RAP#1 relay.

Does the test lamp illuminate on both circuits?

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 12

  1. Reconnect the RAP#1 relay.
  2. With a test lamp that is connected to a good ground, probe the RAP#1 relay output circuit at the RAP#1 relay.
  3. Close the driver and passenger doors.
  4. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  5. Turn OFF the ignition.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 5

  1. Remove the RAP#2 relay.
  2. Close the driver and passenger doors.
  3. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  4. Turn OFF the ignition.
  5. With a test lamp that is connected to a good ground, probe the battery positive voltage circuit of the RAP#2 relay.
  6. With a test lamp that is connected to a good ground, probe the positive control circuit of the RAP#2 relay.

Does the test lamp illuminate with both the tests in items 5 and 6?

Go to Step 7

Repair the RAP#2 relay control circuit or the battery positive feed circuit to the RAP#2 relay. Refer to Wiring Repairs

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 14

With a DMM test the ground circuit of the RAP#2 relay circuit for continuity between the relay terminal and a good ground.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 14

  1. Reconnect the RAP#2 relay.
  2. With a test lamp that is connected to a good ground, probe the RAP#2 relay output circuit at the RAP#2 relay.
  3. Close the driver and passenger doors.
  4. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  5. Turn OFF the ignition.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 10

Go to Step 9

Replace the RAP#2 relay.

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 14

Repair the output circuit of the RAP#2 relay.

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 14

Inspect for poor connections at the RAP#1 relay. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 14

  1. Repair the battery positive voltage circuit of the RAP#1 relay. Refer to Wiring Repairs
  2. Reconnect the RAP#1 relay.

Replace the RAP#1 relay.

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
