Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check - Retained Accessory Power?

  1. Close the vehicle doors.
  2. Close the rear compartment lid if equipped.
  3. Turn the ignition to the RUN position.
  4. Turn the ignition to the OFF position.
  5. Wait at least 10 minutes.

Do any RAP functions still operate after the 20 minute time-out period?

Go to Step 3

Go to Step 11

Disconnect the RAP#1 relay and test the operation of the Right hand power window control switches.

Do the Right hand power window control switches operate?

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 7

Disconnect the RAP#2 relay and test the operation of the Right hand power window control switches.

Do the Right hand power window control switches operate?

Go to Step 6

Go to Step 5

Test for a short to B+ in the RAP#1 relay output circuit or a short between the normally open (NO) RAP#2 relay switched contacts. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you correct the condition?

Go to Step 11

Repair the short to B+ in the RAP#2 relay output circuits. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Have you completed the repair?

Go to Step 11

Test for continuity between the normally open (NO) RAP#1 relay switched contacts. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 11

Test the control circuit of the RAP#1 relay for a short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the BCM. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the BCM. Refer to Body Control Module Replacement in Body Control System.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 11
