    Important: Position the exhaust pipe gaskets with the tabs as shown. Failure to do so will cause improper alignment of the gaskets and result in exhaust leaks.

  1. Install the exhaust pipe with gaskets - Federal Emissions.
  2. Install the exhaust outlet bracket.
  3. Install the exhaust pipe to turbocharger bolts.

  5. Install the exhaust pipe with gaskets - California Emissions.
  6. Install the exhaust outlet bracket.
  7. Install the exhaust pipe to turbocharger bolts.

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  9. Install the exhaust pipe to exhaust manifold bolts - Federal Emissions in sequence.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the exhaust pipe bolts to 53 N·m (39 lb ft).

  11. Install the exhaust pipe to exhaust manifold bolts - California Emissions in sequence.
  12. Tighten
    Tighten the exhaust pipe bolts to 53 N·m (39 lb ft) in sequence.

    Tighten
    Tighten the exhaust pipe to EGR cooler nuts to 26 N·m (19 lb ft).
