Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the fuel rail and bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 26 N·m (19 lb ft).
- Install the fuel injector pipes.
Tighten
Tighten the fittings to 41 N·m (30 lb ft).
- Install the fuel injector feed pipe retainers and bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 4 N·m (35 lb in).
- Connect the fuel feed rear pipe at the end
of the fuel rail (1).
Tighten
Tighten the lines to 44 N·m (32 lb ft).
- Install the EGR valve. Refer to
Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve Replacement

- Install the fuel filter. Refer to
Fuel Filter Replacement
.
- Connect the fuel injection control module. Refer to
Fuel Injector Control Module Replacement
.
- Install the PCV hose.
- Reposition the PCV hose clamp.
- Install the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to
Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement
.
- Fill the cooling system. Refer to
Cooling System Draining and Filling
in Engine Cooling.
- Connect the negative battery cables. Refer to
Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
in Engine Electrical.
- Replace all hold down ties.
- Start the engine and check for leaks or noises.
- After the engine warms up, refill the coolant reservoir.
