Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1206689 Size: SH
  1. Drain the generator control module (GCM) cooling system. Refer to Generator Control Module Cooling System Draining and Filling .
  2. Remove the GCM radiator outlet hose (1) from the GCM radiator (2). Refer to Generator Control Module Coolant Pipe Quick Connect Fitting Replacement .

  3. Remove the ambient air temperature sensor (2) from the GCM radiator bracket (3).

    4. Object Number: 1206686 Size: SH
  4. Disconnect the electrical connector from the GCM cooling fan.
  5. Remove the bolts (1) from the GCM radiator (5).
  6. Remove the GCM radiator (5) from the radiator core support (4).

    7. Object Number: 1310028 Size: SH
  7. Remove the bolts (4) from the GCM cooling fan (3).
  8. Remove the GCM cooling fan (3) from the GCM radiator (2).

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1310028 Size: SH
  1. Install the GCM cooling fan (3) to the SGCM radiator (2).

    2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  2. Install the bolts (4) to the GCM cooling fan (3).

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 6 N·m (53 lb in).

  3. Install the GCM radiator (5) to the radiator core support (4).
  4. Install the bolts (1) to the GCM radiator (5).

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  5. Connect the electrical connector to the GCM cooling fan.

  6. Install the ambient air temperature sensor (2) to the GCM radiator bracket (3).

    7. Object Number: 1206689 Size: SH
  7. Install the GCM radiator outlet hose (1) to the GCM radiator (2). Refer to Generator Control Module Coolant Pipe Quick Connect Fitting Replacement .

    8. Notice: The procedure below must be followed. Improper coolant level could result in a low or high coolant level condition, causing starter/generator control module damage.

  8. Fill the GCM cooling system. Refer to Generator Control Module Cooling System Draining and Filling .
