Removal Procedure
- Drain the cooling system. Refer to
Generator Control Module Cooling System Draining and Filling
.
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
.
- Remove the bolts from the engine shield.
- Remove the engine shield from the vehicle.
- Reposition the radiator outlet hose clamp (2) from the generator coolant inlet pipe (3).
- Remove the radiator outlet hose (1) from the generator coolant inlet pipe (3).
- Remove the bolt (4) from the generator cooler inlet pipe (3).
- Remove the generator coolant inlet pipe (3) from the generator (5).
- Open the clip (2) at the generator coolant inlet pipe (3).
- Remove the generator coolant inlet pipe (3) from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Install the generator coolant inlet pipe (3) to the vehicle.
- Install the generator coolant inlet pipe (3) to the generator (5).
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
- Install the bolt (4) to the generator coolant inlet pipe (3).
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 9 N·m (80 lb in).
- Close the clip (2) at the generator coolant inlet pipe (3).
- Install the radiator outlet hose (1) to the generator coolant inlet pipe (3).
- Position the radiator outlet hose clamp (2) to the generator coolant inlet pipe (3).
- Install the engine shield to the vehicle.
- Install the bolts to the engine shield.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).
- Lower the vehicle.
Notice: The procedure below must be followed. Improper coolant level could result in
a low or high coolant level condition, causing starter/generator control module damage.
- Fill the cooling system. Refer to
Generator Control Module Cooling System Draining and Filling
