Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1399581 Size: SH

    Important: Once the Brake Pedal Position Sensor bolt is removed for any reason, a new 4 mm bolt, with fresh LOCTITE™ will need to be installed.

  1. Remove the brake pedal position sensor bolt (1).

    2. Object Number: 1399584 Size: SH
  2. Remove the brake pedal position sensor (2) from the mounting bracket.
  3. Disconnect the brake pedal position sensor electrical connector (1).
  4. Remove the brake pedal position sensor (2) from the vehicle

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1399584 Size: SH
  1. Connect the brake pedal position sensor (2) electrical connector (1).

    2. Object Number: 1399586 Size: SH
  2. Align the brake pedal position sensor (1) with the actuation arm (2) on the brake pedal and the brake pedal position sensor mounting bracket.

    3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1399581 Size: SH
  3. Install a new 4 mm bolt (1), with LOCTITE™ , to the brake pedal position sensor.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  4. Calibrate the brake pedal position sensor. Refer to Brake Pedal Position Sensor Calibration Description and Operation .
