Service VME - Removal of the Fuel Sender Unit from the Fuel Tank - Tool - information module part

When servicing the vehicle with the VIN you entered, the following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the described symptoms.

This is to advise of a temporary delay in shipment of a 2004 essential tool (J 45722) which is required for removal of the fuel sender unit from the fuel tank on new 2004 full -size pickups and utilities. Plans call for the tool to be shipped to dealers in mid-August 2003. If dealership absolutely requires this tool prior to shipment to address a vehicle down situation, it can be ordered directly from SPX by calling 1-800-GM Tools. Since this is an essential tool, it will be shipped and charged to dealers as it becomes available. This message is being sent only to address any potential vehicle down situation prior to mid-August.

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed. If these steps do not resolve the condition, please contact GM TAC for further diagnostic assistance. This diagnostic approach was developed for the vehicle with the VIN you entered and should not be automatically be used for other vehicles with similar symptoms.
