Subject: | Fuel Sender Information on Trucks with 6.6L Diesel |
Models: | . |
The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the described symptoms in the PI.
For 2004, there are two 6.6L diesel engines, LB7 VIN 1 and LLY VIN 2. When working with the fuel level sender, be aware of the following differences:
The LB7 uses a fuel level sender that ranges from 40 Ohms Empty to 250 Ohms Full. If sender replacement is necessary a new, more robust, fuel sender has been released. The new part numbers can be found in bulletin 04-08-49-019.
The LLY uses a fuel level sensor that ranges from 250 Ohms EMPTY to 40 Ohms FULL. The LLY already uses the new, more robust, fuel sender.
