Subject: | Service VME - Wheel Alignment Specs for Spring Special and Texas Truck RPOs B4V, B2E and B4U |
Models: | . |
The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the described in the PI.
This is a product information update: Dealers should be aware that the new 2004 full size pickup 2WD Spring Special and Texas Truck vehicles ( RPOs B4V, B2E and B4U ) with twenty ( 20 ) inch tires and wheels have a front torsion bar system versus coil springs as in most 2WD models. In this regard, technicians must use the Chevrolet SS Silverado K-15 alignment specifications and trim heights . SI will be updated shortly.
Please note that these vehicles also use a gear box, unlike most 2WD trucks which use rack and pinion.
Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed. If these steps do not resolve the condition, please contact GM TAC for further diagnostic assistance.
