J 44665-2 Inner Tie Rod

Removal Procedure
Notice: When lifting the vehicle do not allow the jack to touch the rear steering
gear. If the jack touches the rear steering gear you may damage the gear or
the rack and pinion boots. If the boots are damaged replace the rack and
pinion boot.
- Remove the rack and pinion boot from the
steering gear. Refer to
Rack and Pinion Boot Replacement
.
- Remove the inner tie rod (1) from the steering gear using the J 44665-2
(2) .
Installation Procedure
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
- Install the inner tie rod to the steering
gear.
- Using the J 44665-2
(2) tighten the inner tie rod (1).
Tighten
Tighten the inner tie rod to 100 N·m
(74 lb ft).
- Install the rack and pinion boot to the steering gear. Refer to
Rack and Pinion Boot Replacement
.
