Heater Inlet Hose Replacement L18

Tools Required

J 43181 Quick Connect Connector Removal Tool

Removal Procedure

  1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
  2. Remove the air intake tube.
  3. Remove the heater and surge tank hose from the mounting clip.

  4. Object Number: 362171  Size: SH
  5. Using the J 43181 disconnect the heater hose from the heater core inlet.
  6. 4.1. Install the J 43181 to the heater core pipe.
    4.2. Close the tool around the heater core pipe.
    4.3. Firmly pull the tool into the quick connect end of the heater hose.
    4.4. Firmly grasp the heater hose. Pull the heater hose forward in order to disengage the hose from the heater core.

  7. Remove the inlet heater hose (1) from the engine coolant inlet fitting.
  8. Remove the inlet heater hose.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the inlet heater hose.

  2. Object Number: 651354  Size: SH
  3. Install the inlet heater hose (1) to the engine coolant inlet fitting.

  4. Object Number: 362171  Size: SH
  5. Connect the heater and surge tank hose to the heater core.
  6. Firmly push the quick connect onto the heater core pipe until you hear an audible click.

  7. Install the heater and surge tank hose to the mounting clip.
  8. Install the air intake tube.
  9. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .

Heater Inlet Hose Replacement LB7

Tools Required

J 43181 Quick Connect Connector Removal Tool

Removal Procedure

  1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
  2. Remove the air intake tube.
  3. Remove the heater and surge tank hose from the mounting clip.

  4. Object Number: 362171  Size: SH
  5. Using the J 43181 disconnect the heater hose from the heater core inlet.
  6. 4.1. Install the J 43181 to the heater core pipe.
    4.2. Close the tool around the heater core pipe.
    4.3. Firmly pull the tool into the quick connect end of the heater hose.
    4.4. Firmly grasp the heater hose. Pull the heater hose forward in order to disengage the hose from the heater core.

  7. Reposition the inlet heater hose clamp from the engine coolant outlet.
  8. Remove the inlet heater hose (1) from the engine coolant outlet.
  9. Remove the auxiliary inlet heater hose if equipped.
  10. Remove the inlet heater hose.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the heater hose.
  2. Connect the auxiliary inlet heater hose if equipped.

  4. Install the inlet heater hose (1) to the engine coolant outlet.
  5. Reposition the inlet heater hose clamp to the engine coolant outlet.

  6. Object Number: 362171  Size: SH
  7. Connect the heater and surge tank hoses to the heater core.
  8. Firmly push the quick connect onto the heater core pipe until you hear an audible click.

  9. Install the heater and surge tank hose to the mounting clip.
  10. Install the air intake tube.
  11. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .

Tools Required

J 43181 Quick Connect Connector Removal Tool

Removal Procedure

  1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling in Engine Cooling.
  2. Remove the air intake tube.
  3. Remove the heater and surge tank hose from the mounting clip.

  5. Using the J 43181 disconnect the heater hose from the heater core inlet.
  6. 4.1. Install the J 43181 to the heater core pipe.
    4.2. Close the tool around the heater core pipe.
    4.3. Firmly pull the tool into the quick connect end of the heater hose.
    4.4. Firmly grasp the heater hose. Pull the heater hose forward in order to disengage the hose from the heater core.

  7. Remove the inlet heater hose from the engine.

  9. Remove the inlet heater hose.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the inlet heater hose.

  2. Object Number: 363237  Size: SH
  3. Install the inlet heater hose to the engine.
  4. Connect the heater and surge tank hose to the heater core.
  5. Firmly push the quick connect onto the heater core pipe until you hear an audible click.

  6. Install the heater and surge tank hose to the mounting clip.
  7. Install the air intake tube.
  8. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling in Engine Cooling.

Heater Inlet Hose Replacement LU3

Tools Required

Removal Procedure

  1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling in Engine Cooling.
  2. Remove the air intake tube.

  3. Object Number: 362171  Size: SH
  4. Using the J 43181 disconnect the heater hose from the heater core inlet.
  5. 3.1. Install the J 43181 to the heater core pipe.
    3.2. Close the tool around the heater core pipe.
    3.3. Firmly pull the tool into the quick connect end of the heater hose.
    3.4. Firmly grasp the heater hose. Pull the heater hose forward in order to disengage the hose from the heater core.

  6. Reposition the inlet heater hose clamp from the engine.
  7. Remove the inlet heater hose from the engine.

  9. Remove the inlet heater hose mounting bolt.
  10. Remove the inlet heater hose from the engine.
  11. Remove the inlet heater hose.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the inlet heater hose.
  2. Install the inlet heater hose to the engine .
  3. Reposition the inlet heater hose clamp to the engine.
  4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the inlet heater hose mounting bolt.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  7. Install the inlet heater hose to the engine.
  8. Connect the heater hoses to the heater core.
  9. Firmly push the quick connect onto the heater core pipe until you hear an audible click.

  10. Install the air intake tube.
  11. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling in Engine Cooling.

Heater Inlet Hose Replacement W/ HP2 Front

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 307286  Size: SH
  1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
  2. Loosen the air cleaner outlet duct clamps at the following locations:
  3. • Throttle body
    • Mass airflow (MAF)/intake air temperature (IAT) sensor
  4. Remove the radiator inlet hose clip from the outlet duct.
  5. Remove the air cleaner outlet duct.

  7. Reposition the inlet heater hose clamp from the engine.
  8. Remove the inlet heater hose from the engine.

  9. Object Number: 1206678  Size: SH
  10. Reposition the inlet heater hose clamp (4) from the auxiliary water pump (1).
  11. Remove the inlet heater hose (6) from the auxiliary water pump (1).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the inlet heater hose (6) to the auxiliary water pump (1).
  2. Position the inlet heater hose clamp (4) to the auxiliary water pump (1).

  3. Object Number: 363237  Size: SH
  4. Install the inlet heater hose to the engine.
  5. Position the inlet heater hose clamp to the engine.

  6. Object Number: 307286  Size: SH

    Important: Align the arrow at the throttle body end of the duct with the throttle body attaching stud.

  7. Install the air cleaner outlet duct.
  8. Install the radiator inlet hose clip to the outlet duct.
  9. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  10. Tighten the air cleaner outlet duct clamps at the following locations:
  11. • Throttle body
    • MAF/IAT sensor

    Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 7 N·m (62 lb in).

  12. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .

Heater Inlet Hose Replacement W/ HP2 Rear

Tools Required

Removal Procedure

  1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
  2. Using the J 43181 disconnect the heater hose from the heater core inlet.
  3. 2.1. Install the J 43181 to the heater core pipe.
    2.2. Close the tool around the heater core pipe.
    2.3. Firmly pull the tool into the quick connect end of the heater hose.
    2.4. Firmly grasp the heater hose. Pull the heater hose forward in order to disengage the hose from the heater core.

  4. Reposition the inlet heater hose clamp (2) from the auxiliary water pump (1).
  5. Remove the inlet heater hose (3) from the auxiliary water pump (1).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the inlet heater hose (3) to the auxiliary water pump (1).
  2. Position the inlet heater hose clamp (2) to the auxiliary water pump (1).

  3. Object Number: 362171  Size: SH
  4. Connect the inlet heater hose to the heater core.
  5. Firmly push the quick connect onto the heater core pipe until you hear an audible click.
  6. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
