Product Enhancement for Inventory Vehicles Only -Allison 1000 Transmission P2 Pinion Gear

THIS PRODUCT ENHANCEMENT INVOLVES VEHICLES IN DEALER INVENTORY ONLY AND WILL EXPIRE ON MAY 31, 2006.

This bulletin provides a service procedure to replace the Allison model 1000 (RPO MW7) automatic transmission on vehicles listed in this bulletin. The P2 pinion gears, contained in the P2 carrier set, were determined to be excessively hardened. This condition could reduce the gear tooth integrity and may cause gear tooth failure.

This service procedure should be completed as soon as possible on involved vehicles listed below in dealership inventory, but no later than May 31, 2006 , at which time this bulletin will expire.

Important: Transmissions required to complete this service procedure will be pre-shipped to involved dealers of record. This pre-shipment is scheduled to begin May 10, 2006.
