Battery Tray Front

Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable from the negative battery terminal. Refer to

    Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

  2. Disconnect the positive battery cable from the positive battery terminal.
  3. Remove the battery limiter from the vehicle if equipped. Refer to Battery Limiter .
  4. Remove the battery hold-down bolt and retainer.
  5. Remove the battery.

  7. Remove the battery tray bolts.
  8. Remove the hose from the vacuum canister.
  9. Remove the battery tray from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 105146  Size: SH
  1. Install the hose to the vacuum canister.
  2. Install the battery tray to the vehicle.
  3. Install the battery tray bolts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the battery.
  6. Install the hold-down retainer and bolt.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the retainer bolt to 15 N·m (11 lb ft).

  8. Install the positive battery cable to the battery.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the cable to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  10. Install the negative battery cable to the battery.
  11. Tighten
    Tighten the cable to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  12. Install the battery limiter to the vehicle if equipped. Refer to Battery Limiter .

Battery Tray Rear

Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable from the negative battery terminal. Refer to

  2. Disconnect the auxiliary positive and negative battery cables.
  3. Support the battery tray with a jackstand or equivalent.

  5. Remove the battery tray bolts.
  6. Remove the battery tray from the vehicle.
  7. Remove the battery hold-down retainer bolt.
  8. Remove the battery from the tray.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the battery to the tray.
  2. Install the battery hold-down retainer bolt.
  3. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 15 N·m (11 lb ft).

  6. Install the bolts to the battery tray.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  8. Connect the auxiliary positive and negative battery cables.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the auxiliary battery terminals to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  10. Install the front battery negative battery cable.
  11. Tighten
    Tighten the cable to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
