- Ensure that the battery is charged.
- Disconnect the BRN (25) wire connector at the generator.
- Place the ignition switch in the RUN position.
- Connect a fused jumper wire between the generator connector Cavity
B (W/100 Amp Generator) or Cavity L (W/124 Amp Generator).

- Check that the generator mechanical grounding is good.
- If the generator is mechanically grounded, replace the generator.

- Disconnect the connector the instrument cluster.
- Connect a self-powered test lamp between the instrument cluster
connector Cavity B16 and the generator connector Cavity B (W/100 Amp generator)
or Cavity L (W/124 Amp generator).
Does the test lamp light?

- Check for open filament in the battery indicator lamp.
- If the filament is good, replace the instrument cluster.
