Generator Bracket Replacement 4.3L, 5.0L, 5.7L Engines

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the generator from the vehicle. Refer to Generator Replacement or Generator Replacement .
  2. Remove the tensioner from the generator bracket.
  3. Remove the idler pulley from the generator bracket.

  4. Object Number: 105619  Size: SH
  5. Remove the retaining bolts and nuts from the generator bracket.
  6. Remove the generator bracket from the engine.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 105619  Size: SH
  1. Install the generator bracket to the engine.
  2. Install the generator bracket retaining bolts and nuts to the generator bracket.
  3. Tighten

        • Tighten the generator mounting bracket bolts to 41 N·m (30 lb ft).
        • Tighten the generator mounting bracket nuts to 41 N·m (30 lb ft).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the idler pulley to the generator bracket.
  5. Install the tensioner to the generator bracket.
  6. Install the generator to the vehicle. Refer to Generator Replacement or Generator Replacement .

Generator Bracket Replacement 7.4L Engines

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the generator from the vehicle. Refer to Generator Replacement or Generator Replacement .
  2. Remove the tensioner from the generator bracket.
  3. Remove the idler pulley from the generator bracket.

  4. Object Number: 105620  Size: SH
  5. Remove the retaining bolts and nuts from the generator bracket.
  6. Remove the generator bracket from the engine.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 105620  Size: SH
  1. Install the generator bracket to the engine.
  2. Install the generator bracket retaining bolts and nuts to the generator bracket.
  3. Tighten

        • Tighten the generator mounting bracket bolts to 66 N·m (49 lb ft).
        • Tighten the generator mounting bracket nuts to 66 N·m (49 lb ft).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Generator Bracket Replacement 6.5L Engines

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the generator from the vehicle. Refer to Generator Replacement or Generator Replacement .
  2. Remove the tensioner from the generator bracket.
  3. Remove the idler pulley from the generator bracket.

  4. Object Number: 105622  Size: SH
  5. Remove the retaining bolts and nuts from the generator bracket.
  6. Remove the generator bracket from the engine.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 105622  Size: SH
  1. Install the generator bracket to the engine.
  2. Install the generator bracket retaining bolts and nuts to the generator bracket.
  3. Tighten

        • Tighten the generator mounting bracket bolts to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).
        • Tighten the generator mounting bracket nuts to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
