REFER TO THE 1981 LIGHT DUTY TRUCK SERVICE MANUAL (ST330-81), PAGE 3C-28, FIGURE 3C-3K, ITEMS NO. 30 AND NO. 31. THE ADJUSTING NUT, ITEM NO. 31, IS SHOWN IN GREATER DETAIL IN FIGURE 3. WHENEVER SERVICING THESE ITEMS, IT IS MANDATORY THAT THE PIN ON THE WHEEL BEARING ADJUSTING NUT PASS THROUGH ONE OF THE HOLES IN THE RETAINING WASHER, PRIOR TO INSTALLING THE LOCK NUT, ITEM NO. 29. FAILURE TO ASSEMBLE THESE COMPONENTS PROPERLY COULD RESULT IN IMPROPER OPERATION AND OR PREMATURE WEAR. ILLUSTRATION
