BOLT TORQUE SPEC REVISION INFO/700 TRANSMISSION

BEGINNING IN OCTOBER, 1982, SOME BOLT TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS WERE REVISED OR UPDATED FOR THE SUBJECT TRANSMISSION. THESE CHANGES ARE SHOWN BELOW: BOLT NAME OIL PAN TO CASE BOLT *OLD TORQUE SPEC. 24 N.M (18 LB. FT .) NEW TORQUE SPEC. 16 N.M (12 LB. FT.) BOLT NAME EXTENSION HSG. TO CASE *OLD TORQUE SPEC. 31 N.M (23 LB. FT.) NEW TORQUE SPEC. 34 N.M (26 LB. FT.) BOLT NAME **1/4-18 NPTF PIPE PLUG NEW TORQUE SPEC. 24 N.M (18 LB. FT.) *THESE TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS WERE TAKEN FROM PAGE 700-R4-39 OF THE APPROPRIATE 1982 SHOP MANUAL. **THIS IS A NEW (LARGER) PRESSURE PLUG BEING USED IN THE 2ND, 3RD, AND 4TH CLUTCH PRESSURE TAPS. THE SMALLER PLUG (1/8-27 NPTF) USED IN THE PAST FOR THESE TAPS AND CURRENTLY USED IN THE LINE PRESSURE TAP REMAINS AT 11 N.M (8 LB. FT.).
