Some 1988 C/K 10 Series models may have jack assemblies that rattle when driven over rough roads. To repair this condition, the following procedure should be used.
1. Cut one piece of 1/2 inch I.D. x 1-1/2 inch O.D. sponge pipe insulation 2-3/4 inches long as shown in Figure No. 1.
2. Split sponge pipe insulation as shown in Figure No. 1.
3. Install insulation around jack screw as shown in Figure No. 2.
4. Fold jack completely for storage.
This condition was corrected in production beginning with the following VIN breakpoints.

Chevrolet J1105962 GMC J1501914
Labor Op T7355 should be used when performing this repair. Repair time is 0.3hr.
