Some 1988 C/K 10-20 and 30 Series models may have jack assemblies that rattle when driven over rough roads. To repair this condition, the following procedure should be used.
1. Cut one piece of 1/2 inch I.D. x 1-1/2 inch O.D. sponge pipe insulation 2-3/4- inches long as shown in Figure No. 1.
2. Split sponge pipe insulation as shown in Figure No. 1.
3. Install insulation around jack screw as shown in Figure No. 2.
4. Fold jack completely for storage.
This conditon was corrected in production beginning with the following VIN breakpoints:

Chevrolet JZI01777 GMC JZ500593
Chevrolet J1106538 GMC J1502040
Use the most applicable labour operation from the Canadian Labour Time Guide and claim 0.3 houts.
