For 1990-2009 cars only
- Use a solvent and a stiff brush to clean the transfer case exterior.
- Remove the following components from the front output shaft:
- Remove the four-wheel drive actuator switch and the O-ring seal.
- Remove the vehicle speed sensor and the O-ring seal.
- Remove the following components:

| • | The rubber sealing washer |
| • | The front output flange |
