    Object Number: 180956  Size: SH

    Notice: Do not damage the camshaft bearings.

  1. Remove the camshaft rear bearing hole plug:
  2. 1.1. Obtain a suitable self-threading screw.
    1.2. Drill a hole into the plug.
    1.3. Install the self-threading screw.
    1.4. Pull on the plug until it has left the bore.
    1.5. An alternate method to remove the plug would be to insert a long shaft or bar through the front of the engine and drive the plug from the bore.

  3. Remove the engine block expansion plugs from both sides of block.
  4. 2.1. Obtain a suitable self-threading screw.
    2.2. Drill a hole into the plug.
    2.3. Install the self-threading screw.
    2.4. Pull on the plug until it has left the bore.

  5. Remove the engine block coolant drain hole plugs.

  6. Object Number: 354072  Size: SH
  7. Remove the left side knock sensor shield bolts.
  8. Remove the left side knock sensor shield.

  9. Object Number: 181034  Size: SH
  10. Remove the left side knock sensor (1).
  11. Remove the right side knock sensor (2).

  12. Object Number: 354082  Size: SH
  13. Remove the engine block oil cooler plugs (without oil cooler).

  14. Object Number: 180864  Size: SH
  15. Remove the engine block oil cooler hose fittings (with oil cooler).

  16. Object Number: 180866  Size: SH
  17. Remove the rear oil gallery plugs.

  18. Object Number: 180871  Size: SH
  19. Remove the front oil gallery plugs.

  20. Object Number: 180869  Size: SH
  21. Remove the left side oil gallery plugs.

  22. Object Number: 180870  Size: SH
  23. Remove the top oil gallery plugs.
