  1. Clean the oil pan in solvent.
  2. Caution: Wear safety glasses in order to avoid eye damage.

  3. Dry with compressed air.
  4. Inspect the oil pan for the following conditions:
  5. • The drain plug hole for damaged threads.
    • Gouges or damage to the oil pan sealing surfaces
    • Damage to the oil pan baffle
    • Dents or damage to the exterior of the oil pan
    • An oil pan that is dented may interfere with the position of the oil pump screen or not distribute oil properly in the pan sump area.
    • Damage to the oil level indicator tube area
    • Damage to the oil pan gasket.
