Other than checking for a worn grommet and loose electrical connections, the only service possible is unit replacement, if the diagnosis shows the sensor to be faulty.

Removal Procedure

    Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the upper intake plenum. Refer to Intake Manifold Replacement in Engine Mechanical.
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector.

  4. Object Number: 19673  Size: SH
  5. Remove the retainer bolt and remove the sensor.
  6. If the original sensor is to be reused, discard the grommet.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 19673  Size: SH
  1. If the original sensor is to be reused, replace the grommet.
  2. Install the bolts or snap sensor on bracket.
  3. Connect the electrical connector.
  4. Install the upper intake plenum. Refer to Intake Manifold Replacement in Engine Mechanical.
  5. Connect the negative battery cable.
