Removal Procedure

J 41712 Oil Pressure Sending Unit Socket


    Object Number: 59759  Size: SH
  1. Remove the engine cover from the engine block.
  2. Remove the fuel filter/water separator from the lower intake manifold and position to the side.
  3. Remove the electrical connector from the oil pressure sending unit.

  4. Object Number: 337977  Size: SH
  5. Use the J 41712 to remove the oil pressure sending unit from the engine block.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Use the J 41712 to install the oil pressure sending unit to the engine block.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the oil pressure sending unit to 12 N·m (9 lb ft).

  3. Install the electrical connector to the oil pressure sending unit.

  4. Object Number: 59759  Size: SH
  5. Install the fuel filter/water separator to the lower intake manifold.
  6. Install the engine cover to the engine block
