Has the Defogger System Check been performed?

Go to Defogger System Check

1. Disconnect the rear window defogger grid connector.
2. Connect a J 35616-200 test lamp from cavity A of the grid connector to ground.
3. Place ignition in the RUN position.
4. Depress the rear defogger switch.

Does the test lamp light?

Go to Step 3

Is the repair complete?

--

Go to Defogger System Check

1. Disconnect C222 from convenience center.
2. Connect a J 35616-200 test lamp from cavity D9 of the convenience center to ground.

Does the test lamp light?

--

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 6

Locate and repair open in CKT 293 (PPL) between C222 and the rear window defogger grid connector. Refer to Wiring Repairs in wiring.

Is the repair complete?

--

Go to Defogger System Check

1. Disconnect the HVAC control module connector C1.
2. Connect a J 35616-200 test lamp between cavity D of HVAC the control module and ground.

Does the test lamp light?

--

Go to Step 7

Go to Step 8

Locate and repair open in CKT 293 (PPL) between the HVAC control module connector and the convenience center. Refer to Wiring Repairs in wiring.

Is the repair complete?

--

Go to Defogger System Check

Connect a J 35616-200 test lamp between cavity A of the HVAC control module connector C1 and ground.

Does the test lamp light?

--

Go to Step 9

Go to Step 10

Replace the HVAC control module.

Refer to Control Assembly Replacement in instrument cluster.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Defogger System Check

Locate and repair open in CKT 1440 (ORN) between the HVAC control module connector C1 and the underhood fuse block. Refer to Wiring Repairs in wiring.
