Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the trim panel. Refer to Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
  2. Remove the water deflector. Refer to Rear Side Door Water Deflector Replacement .

    3. Object Number: 277827 Size: SH
  3. Disconnect the inside door handle and lock control rods.

    4. Object Number: 277829 Size: SH
  4. Removing the outside door handle by completing the appropriate step:
    5. • On the Suburban and Crew Cab vehicles, unsnap the threaded clip in order to remove the outside door handle.
    • On the 4-door Yukon/Tahoe vehicles, push in the clip in order to remove the outside door handle.
  5. Disconnect the power door lock connector.
  6. Remove the lock assembly bolts.
  7. Remove the lock assembly from the vehicle.
  8. On utility vehicles, remove the child security lock from the lock assembly.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 277829 Size: SH
  1. Install the lock assembly to the vehicle.
  2. On utility vehicles, install the child security lock to the lock assembly.
  3. Install the lock assembly bolts.
  4. Connect the power lock connector.

    5. Object Number: 277827 Size: SH
  5. Install the outside door handle by completing the appropriate step:
    6. • On the Suburban and Crew Cab vehicles, snap the threaded clip in order to install the outside door handle.
    • On the 4-door Yukon/Tahoe vehicles, push in the clip in order to install the outside door handle.
  6. Install the water deflector. Refer to Rear Side Door Water Deflector Replacement .
  7. Install the trim panel. Refer to Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
