Seat Riser Replacement Utility

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 276756  Size: LH
  1. Remove the front seat assembly from the vehicle. Refer to Front Seat Replacement - Bucket .
  2. Remove the nuts retaining the seat riser (20) to the seat adjuster.
  3. Remove the seat riser from the seat adjuster.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 276756  Size: LH
  1. Install the front seat riser (20) to the seat adjuster.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the nuts to retain the seat riser to the seat adjuster.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to retain the seat riser to the seat adjuster to 45 N·m (33 lb ft).

  5. Install the front seat assembly to the vehicle. Refer to Front Seat Replacement - Bucket .

Seat Riser Replacement Extended Cab

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the front seat assembly from the vehicle. Refer to Split Bench Seat Replacement .

  2. Object Number: 276776  Size: SH
  3. Remove the nuts retaining the seat riser (2) to the seat adjuster.
  4. Remove the front seat riser from the seat adjuster.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the front seat riser (2) to the seat adjuster.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Seat Riser Replacement Crew Cab

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the front seat assembly from the vehicle. Refer to Bench Seat Replacement .

  2. Object Number: 276721  Size: LH
  3. Remove the nuts retaining the seat riser (5) to the seat adjuster.
  4. Remove the front seat riser (5) from the seat adjuster.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the front seat riser (5) to the seat adjuster.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure.   4. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts in order to retain the seat riser to the seat adjuster to 45 N·m (33 lb ft).

  5. Install the front seat assembly to the vehicle. Refer to Bench Seat Replacement .

Seat Riser Replacement Suburban

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 276776  Size: SH
  1. Remove the rear passenger seat from the vehicle. Refer to Rear Seat Replacement .
  2. Remove the nuts and the bolts retaining the seat riser (2) to the seat cushion frame.
  3. Remove the seat riser from the seat cushion frame.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the seat riser (2) to the seat cushion frame.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the nuts and the bolts to retain the seat riser to the seat cushion frame (9).
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts and the bolts to retain the seat riser to the seat cushion frame to 55 N·m (41 lb ft).

  5. Install the rear passenger seat to the vehicle. Refer to Rear Seat Replacement .
