Has the Heated Seats System Check been performed?

  1. Place ignition switch in the run position.
  2. Disconnect heated seat switch connector.
  3. Connect a J 39200 DMM (volts) from cavity D of the heated seat switch to ground.

Is voltage present?

Battery Voltage

Repair open in CKT 341 (BRN). Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

System OK

  1. Disconnect heated seat module connector.
  2. Connect a J 39200 DMM (volts) from cavity D to ground.

Is voltage present?

Battery Voltage

Repair open in CKT 1940 (ORN). Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

System OK

  1. Connect a J 39200 DMM (continuity) between cavities D and F of the heated seat switch.
  2. Place the switch in the LOW and then HIGH

Is continuity present?

--

Replace heated seat switch. Refer to Rear Seat Heater Switch Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

  1. Connect a J 39200 DMM (ohms) between cavities D and F of the heated seat switch.
  2. Place the switch in the LOW position.

Are the required ohms present?

Approx. 200ohms

  1. Connect a J 39200 DMM (ohms) between cavities A and D of the heated seat switch.
  2. Place the switch in the HIGH position.

Are the required ohms present?

Approx. 310ohms

Connect a J 39200 DMM (continuity) between cavity A of the heated seat switch connector and cavity B of the heated seat control module connector.

Is continuity present?

Connect a J 39200 DMM (continuity) between cavity F of the heated seat switch connector and cavity C of the heated seat module connector.

Connect a J 39200 DMM (continuity) from cavity F of the heated seat module connector to ground.

  1. Disconnect seat temperature sensor connector.
  2. Connect a J 39200 DMM (continuity) between cavities C and D of the seat temperature sensor.

Is continuity present?

  1. Disconnect heated seat element connector.
  2. Connect a J 39200 DMM (continuity) between cavities A and B of the heated seat element connector.

Is continuity present?

Connect a J 39200 DMM (continuity) between cavity A of the heated seat module connector to cavity A of the heated seat element connector.

Is continuity present?

Connect a J 39200 DMM (continuity) between cavity F of the heated seat module connector to cavity B of the heated seat element connector.

  1. Disconnect seatbelt switch connector.
  2. Unbuckle seatbelt.
  3. Connect a J 39200 DMM (continuity) between seatbelt switch connector cavities.

Is continuity present?

Replace seat belt switch. Refer to Rear Seat Belt Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

Connect a J 39200 DMM (continuity) between cavity E, of the heated seat module connector, and cavity C of the heated seat element connector, also to the cavity holding CKT 182 (YEL) at the seatbelt switch.

Is continuity present?

Locate and repair the open in CKT 182 (YEL) between the applicable components. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
